No Feelings

No shame, no guilt, no remorse and no empathy - this is the psychopath, a creature constituting less than 1% of most human populations. Deviant or liberated, its hard to say without taking a cultural standpoint, ultimately an arbitrary psycho-social norm. Some psychiatrists believe that psychopaths feel just two, infantile, emotions: comfort (pleasure) and discomfort (pain). In adulthood, these basic internal reactions develop into a polarity between amusement/joy and boredom/anger. Psychopaths can mimic the outward signs of other emotions, basic and subtle, but there are no corresponding affective feelings going on inside their head as there are with other people when they display such reactions. In short, the psychopath is as close to emotional nothingness as it is possible to get without brain damage or death
